I thought you were supposed to use COLD on something like this to stop the
bleeding. I found that an ice cube for a few minutes on a nasty bite (from
a beautiful, but nippy, blue and gold macaw) made the healing go much
faster. Otherwise I'd get a very nasty hard knot that took forever to heal.
The ice really helped. I find it also helps me for most pain.
I DO use a hot shower to relax muscles in the morning, followed by cool or
cold water -- helps me have much less pain during the day (I can't take pain
pills or anti-inflammatories).
