Wittkay-
I found a site called Thyroid International
http://www.thyrolink.com/thyint/3-96int.htm#intro
To quote "Paraesthesias,numbness of the fingers and toes are frequent and may
represent early manifestations of nerve entrapment syndromes more frequently
observed inthe median nerve at the wrist than for other nerves at other
sites, for example the tarsal tunnel. These are due to mucinous deposits."
Another site: http://www.remodi.com/conditions/carpal_tunnel.html
To quote: In fact, the list of possible causes for CPT is long,and includes;
alcoholism,hemophilia, local tumors such as lipomata or ganglia, hormonal
changes, menopause, pregnancy,rheumatoid arthritis, thyroid imbalance,
........."
I had no pain UNTIL I started on thyroid medication. I just had my levels
done and everything is now on the low side, TSH, and T3, T7 and T4. I have
cut back on my meds and am feeling better and the pain in my wrists is almost
gone. I really don't understand how this is happening but have followup
appt. soon.
Hope you enjoy the info.
