S:addison's, pituitary, thyroid, celiac Part 1
I received 22 responses to my last question on addison's connection to celiac. I will summerize my question and what has happened since then with test results. etc. after including the 22 responses in the summary. The summary is long and may take a few days to send all responses as life is busier than usual this week. To differentiate, my comments are listed under Answer at the end of each comment.
1. 5 years to get feeling really well most of the time. I am hypothyroid and taking Amour thyroid. I also take progesterone hormone. Consulted a nutritionist and took a saliva test for adrenal function. Took adrenal glandular supplements and some herbs for a couple of months. Results very good and feeling much better.
2. Fed up with contemporary doc and for the last 5 months have been seeing an Osteopathic MD who has really helped with adrenal insufficiency. Put me on a basic diet of meat, raw veggies, fresh fruit, seeds and nuts, salads. Plus nutrients to support the adrenals. This really turned me around and my adrenals are healing. He said it would take about a year. I try to stick with it. I do see results and I am getting better energy.
3. Sounds like my history with slight variations. There are a few things I have done that seem to help that you haven't mentioned.
Biltricide for parasites that will not show up in the lab tests. Answer: A test sent to another part of the country showed no parasites a few months ago.
IV minerals each week. Later DSMO plus minerals. Answer: I am having weekly IV's for vitamins, minerals, and amino acids weekly.
Check and lower heavy metals as needed. Answer: All my heavy minerals are really low or undetectible.
Butyric acid enemas to increase colon levels.
Beta glucan probiotics. Answer: I take 40 billion of an excellent probiotic daily but still no beneficial bacteria showing in tests a few months ago.
Antifungal for all sorts of fungal infections. Answer: I take Nystatin 4 tabs daily as I had systemic yeast aroune the time my health became much worse with celiac.
Stomach acid level tests.
Taking all sorts of herbs and minerals for 4 years or so. Answer: I take a really good easy to digest vitamin and mineral twice daily for the past year and a few herbs.
I have very slowly seen improvements with setbacks from food infections/toxins. My biggest manifestation is extensive food allergies limiting me to about 12 foods total. Answer: I know that I have IgA reactions to dairy, casein, soy and yeast in addition to the usual celiac food things.
Now see an ND who uses muscle testing (kinesiology) for diagnosis. She is very good and I have had many experiences with this tecnique being corrobated with lab tests that I am confident of the tecnique. The practioners skills with this are paramount to good diagnosis.
4. My naturopath who also has celiac checked me for Addison's and adrenal disfunction but tests came back fine even though I had a few of the symptoms. I have many other mostly autoimmune problems including Hasimoto's thyroiditis (hypothyroid and on thyroid replacement) PCOS, endometriosis, positive ANA, positive antiphospholipids, ITP (low platelets), chronic anemia, high insulin, weak bones and teeth and went through 6 plus years of infertility before having my boys age 4 and 1 who both have celiac/gluten intolerance.
5. I live on TPN and hydration because so intolerant to fat, etc.
6. Get a hair test from Dr's Data. Mercury tox won't show up on a mainstream blood test. Were you better before amalgams came out? Answer: I was much worse 3 years ago. I haven't had any Murcury in my teeth for a few years now. Levels were low 2 years ago and everything is much lower today. Doctor's Data showed Mercury levels were 1.9 in April, 2006- very low. They are supposed to be below 5 on a 24 hour urine. Everything else was really low and 8 of the toxic metals were less than detection level meaning they didn't find any in my labs.
7. Can you tell me how you are getting amino acids? Answer: IV's according to tests mailed to another part of the country showing what amino acids, minerals, and vitamins are low. I feel a lot better for a few days after each IV.
To be continued but may not be until tonight or tomorrow. I will have several parts to this post.
