This has nothing to do with whether I'm a Catholic or Protestant but we had
a Sunday evening service which was kind of different.
I do know here in Britain that many different churches adopt the idea of
having a New Year's eve service, often to reflect and look forward. I don't
think this is particularly tied to a denomination.
