Based on a favorable response from Saputo, the makers of Treasure Cave Blue
Cheese, my wife went out to purchase some today. Based on a reading of the
ingredients, she sent the following message to Treasure Cave:

Dear Sallie

Just to let you know that our local Safeway carries the Treasure Cave brand
of both blue cheese and gorgonzola. Both packages list the ingredients.
Under "cheese enzyme" it lists wheat as one of the ingredients. As you
know, this is gluten personified. Either your ingredient suppliers are in
error or they have changed the formulation without telling you. If any
other questions come in on this topic, please continue to caution the
purchaser to read all labels first.

Mr. Victor Dolcourt,

Thank you for contacting Saputo Cheese USA, Inc.!
None of the ingredients used in the products that Saputo Cheese USA produces
contain gluten, we have been given documentation form our Ingredient
Suppliers that their ingredients do not contain wheat. The manufacturing and
packaging facilities are dedicated to Milk and Milk products.

Please note that ingredients or changes in formulations may affect the above
information and are subject to change without notice.

If you have any questions please contact us again.

I'll post the reply from Saputo when it comes in. Again, this is a lesson in
"Read the Ingredient List."
