>I am a newley diagnosed celiac patient with a history of being treated for
>Irritable bowel syndrome for a long time.
Join the club...after too many years of IBS this and IBS that, I got a new
GI doc who determined my problem is,was and will be Celiac. There remain
some aspects of IBS, which, I am told, should reduce as my intestines
'regrow' the lining.
>Has anyone had reactions to COKE or various spices, like oregano and cinnamon?
Spices in powder form may contain flour as an additive to inprove texture.
I only buy from a local health food chain that will check on ingredients
for me. Second hand info from my dietician is that Coke may contain barley
malt to produce a smoother taste.
>Is it normal to have choking and chewing difficulties?
Can't say if it normal, but if I eat something with even traces of gluten,
I become nauseaus (is that how to spell it?) and experience mild
choking....a sure sign to deep six whatever it is I am eating.
>What is safe to prepare now and to drink without the stomach cramps and
>diarrhea?
My best advice is, find a good dietician and use her/him.
Good Luck
