If you have a BartCE emergency boot rescue CD or something similar, you 
might try loading that. It loads its own cut-down version of XP off the CD, 
so should be able to read everything on your HD via its file manager 
without any restrictions . This is, I think, functional enough to allow you 
to copy your files.

Just guessing, as I've never had to actually do it. Whether the password 
will still protect them I'm not certain---it may be built into the file 
structure.
