Not outright. When I was helping my dad with the billing for his practice
when I first got out of college, I remember several patients who were
"fired" because they called at odd hours for refills, or before they were
due for refills. This generally indicated an abuse pattern, and when they
were fired, they were referred to another doctor (the local pain control guy
or addictionologist). But I've never heard of a doc refusing a patient just
on their medication list. Did the office ask for anything else about your
medical history before the turned you down?
