Well, one option might be buying the ham stick dipole adapter from:

Now, I am sure it works well with ham sticks but you might be able to find
some other maulty band mobile antennas that use the same standard antenna
mounting system. With a dipole you can mount it vertically or horizontally.
In the horizontal mode you can also use a rotor.
Just some thoughts.
