Matt, I think you could do all your cables.  Use a gun which is the easiest. 
Put the cable gently in a vice or some way of holding it, I have done many 
of them.  Practice with something your not going to use. I also use a 300 
watt iron outside on some grounds but I don't touch it very long at a time
