Hi Colin.

Were you using the power cord with the IC-DC1 or direct connecting it?  If 
you were using the DC1, you may have gotten lucky and just vaporized one of 
the veairy fine wires that connects power to the battery rails.  If you 
were direct connecting the radio, then you probably have a case full of 
crispy critters.
