Hello Cherryl,

Welcome to the group. If you can, find a group in Colona who may be
offering classes and, if possible, an Elmer to advise and encourage along
the way. If you can find these arrangements, it will be nice because you
then have a group of contemporaries who went through class with you and you
almost immediately have persons you know to talk to. You can do it on your
own but it's harder and nowhere as much fun. I was blessed to have a
wonderfully supportive group of hams in the city where I grew up and got my
ticket at 14 and an Elmer I could call for advice or help when I needed it.
In many ways, despite the older and much poorer equipment, those were great
days in ham radio for me with lots of comradery and just a lot of fun.

I wish you the best in your pursuit of your license and we all look forward
to seeing that new call when you get it.

Take care and very 73.

Kevin :)

Subject: Hello and new person

Hello listers.

I am interested in taking my Ham radio license here in Canada.

I know I will learn lots from you all, and I hope that I too will be = able
to be of some help along the way.

Let me tell you abit about myself. I live in Kelowna BC Canada, and I = am
a single person who has moved to this area fairly recently.

I have always had an interest in ham radio, and haven't had the time to = go
for my license as I was in a 14 hour/day paid employment.

I look forward to all your input and ideas.

Have a good one.
Cherryl
