Thank you for your responses. We stayed in Old Town Alexandria & Visited DC. We ate at Five Guys & Austin Grill with no problems! DC Was a bit more challenging because we took the metro into DC and were not as familiar with the DC area but did fine with snacks, drinks, and fruit. Here are the responses: There is a chain of hamburger restaurants in the DC/Maryland/Va area called Five Guys. we go there a lot because the french fries are gf (dedicated fryers - the fries are the only things they fry). The burgers (without the bun of course) are also gf (www.austingrill.com). The Washington DC area celiac group also has a website that lists members' favorite restaurants (www.dcceliacs.com). There's a Trader Joe's and a Whole Foods in Alexandria (sorry I don't still have the addys) but better yet, in nearby Del Ray is an ice cream parlor with GF cones. http://thedairygodmother.com/ We also enjoyed a great dinner at the McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant in Crystal City, at: 2010 Crystal Drive Arlington, Virginia 22202

Alexandria Va restaurants:
1. Clyde's, 1700 N Beauregard St
2. Don Pablo's, 3525 Jefferson Davis Hwy
3. La Bergerie, 218 N. Lee St
4. Noodles & Co., 3105 Duke St
5. Outback, 6804 Richmond Hwy
6. Ted's Montana Grill, 2451 Eisenhower Ave

Thanks again. Your ideas were extremely helpful!
