<< Hello Everyone,
I just received the results of my blood tests taken last week over the
telephone via my endo's secretary, so there was no opportunity for
discussion. Here they go:
T4: 5.4
TU: 29.1
T7: 1.6
TSH: 2.0
T3: 0.8
Supposedly, these fall within the normal range (as if that means anything),
but I should add that I have only been off Synthroid for about two months.
I have been taking low doses ofThyroidinum (dessicated sheep thyroid), and
many of my symptoms of hypo have been abated somewhat. I would appreciate
any comments. Thanks. Linda

I don't know what your lab reference ranges are, but if they are like our
lab, it is really stretching it to say that is truly normal. Ask for the
values in percentage terms. I don't see the use of the T7 test, but ask for
the T4 and T3 as to where they are. If the reference ranges for T3 are .75
to 2.0 or something, it could be that you are at something like the three
percentile mark for T3 (97% having higher T3s and 3% having lower T3s) Now
I'm not saying that that is the case, but I would definitely insist that the
numbers be stated in % terms. Then YOU can evaluate whether they are normal
or not, taking into consideration HOW YOU FEEL. Do you FEEL normal? (or did
the doctor bother to ask?) Good luck, and let us know. BL
