Hi All:

I received a call from someone needing help resolving a problenm with
Outlook Express on a laptop. The lady has the option in OE checked to
play a sound when new mail arrives. She has her New Mail Notification
in Sounds and Audio Devices under Control Panel set to "chimes.wav."
Yet, when new mail arrives, the computer won't play a sound. She is
using JAWS 7 with no problems, so I'm guessing her sound card is OK with
updated drivers. She has Automatic Updates set to automatic under
control panel. Does anyone have any ideas on why OE won't play a sound
when new mail arrives and what else we can check?

Thanks for any help,
