Hi Dan,
You're right, an email like this about NPr/PBS has been going around,
however, Congress is about to vote on this appropriation, so the call for
support is legitimate.

Unless something has changed, this email has been going around for several
years.  NPR and PBS are always struggling for dollars, but there is no bill
in the house to cut their funding.  Or if there is, the bill has been being
voted on tomorrow every tomorrow for the last five or so years that this
email has been circulating.

Please, support your local NPR and PBS affiliates, but do not forward this
email to everyone you know.
