Hi Jill;
Congratulations!
I am diabetic as well and am finding it more difficult to balance my blood
glucose. I recently discovered I also have Celiac disease. I have lost 79
pounds. Still on insulin and oral meds. I suspect pancreas failure. My
doctor is poo-pooing me and hasn't ordered the tests.
I eat fruits and veggies only in season. And only those which are not very
sweet and are not starchy. I eat no nuts, no soy, no dairy, (except eggs);
no glutens, no grains, nothing that has been fermented or that contains
yeast for the time being (system wide yeast over growth). With the
exception of Bragg's raw organic apple cider vinegar. I have no type of
sweatner, not even stevia. I do not drink coffee, or any tea excepting
herbal infusions I make myself excluding black, green and white "tea"
leaves.
My meat I get from local FFA sources when auctioned. We get a steer, 3
pigs, lots of chickens and 3 lambs, all grass and free range fed. I had to
get used to the taste - quite different from the garbage in grocery stores.
I have been sealing with debilitating migraines for three years. Hormones,
I imagine. But I noticed that when all glutens and grains and nuts were
eliminated, the severity diminished somewhat. I guess they went from super
nova to merely nuclear. I have PCOS as well. And I just don't feel "right".
I wish I knew what blood tests I need to ask for to make sure I am not
deficient. I know I am magnesium and potassium deficient. But I feel "not
right" and "really off"....
Trish
