If we are going to go on with this discussion, could we at least get a few
things straight?
#1. Muslim killings and rapes of Christians are covered by the news.
#2. Imams are just as likely to be as goofy as the Christian ministers
highlighted in the news recently, it's just that they aren't endorsing
candidates for the U.S. presidency and so don't make our news.
#3. And any act of outrage by a U.S. soldier is big news precisely b/c we
invaded an Islamic country and Muslims are just as sensitive to non-Muslims
using their holy book for target practice as Christians are to the Bible
being used thus. And any such outrage recruits more jihadists. Might you see
that as a problem, Alec?
The questions around diet and history are complex and subtle. There is no
room for uninformed, thoughtless, and downright poor thinking. Let's ditch
it and either continue with the religious polemics or get back to paleo
eating. Either way, keep reason in the perspectives.

However Gale, please realize that some may be over sensitive do to the way
the media distorts information or simply does not cover it. If a woman is
raped by a Muslim because she is a Christian, it never makes the news. When
Christians are murdered by Muslims it never makes the news. I actually once
came across an Islamic web site in which an Imam was explaining that married
Muslim men raping non Muslim female prisoners was not 'cheating' on your
wife! Hey, where is Matt Laurer on this story? However, if one soldier out
of 150,000 uses a Quoran for target practice it is news for a week.
