Olivia, I don't remember your age but you may consider two further tests:
homocystiene & CRP. They have much to do w/ heart health, cholesterol is
just one indication that there may be a problem.
Re. BP: I have a "new world" answer that is working (so far) for everyone I
know who has tried it; my friends & I are doing our own experiment. We
purchase pure, organic, non-alkaline, no sugar cocoa at the health food
store (Rapunzel) & take 1/2 to 1 tea. of it in the a.m. w/ 1/2 cup organic
coffee or sometimes just mix the cocoa into hot water. For sweetener I
often add a small chunk of pure coconut or a couple drops of Agave nectar
(organic, from Mexico; it does not raise the glycemic load). So far all of
us have lower BP if it was high. Some of my male friends have had their
cardio docs amazed and the men are now able to take less BP meds and will,
hopefully, be able to stop the meds entirely in a while. My BP was normal
to begin with so I take the cocoa once or twice per wk as a preventative.
Hope this helps,
Kath
