i Howard.

I don't have Goldwave, so I don't have a good idea what it is capable 
of.  Audacity is freeware, so you can download that.  Groove Mechanic is 
shareware--it will set you back about $40, but in my opinion, it is well 
worth it.  I haven't run into another program that has had as nice a noise 
reduction algorithm, including the ones in the Nero Wave Editor.
