We are deeply saddened by the untimely death of our dear friend and social
justice champion David Schaefer.  Those of us who are privileged to have
known Dave will no doubt echo Enis' kind words about this extraordinary man
(see message below).

Visitation will be held Friday, September 17, 4:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m,
followed by Mass at 7:00 p.m. at Saint Mary's Catholic Church, 108 McHenry
Street, Burlington, Wisconsin.  Dinner will be held after the Mass in the
church hall.

It is with great sadness that I must inform you that a member of my staff,
Dave Schaefer, Disabilities Rights Specialist for the City of Madison, died
unexpectedly yesterday, September 14, 2004.

Those of us who knew him knew an intelligent, loving, compassionate,
humorous, fun-loving man and an effective and passionate advocate for people
with disabilities.

We will all mourn his loss and he will be missed.
