Glad you weren't hurt!
Yeah, who wants to see where one is going, it's really overrated!

Subject: Where Is An Angel When You Need One?

Late this evening, one of our dogs was jumping at the gate we have entering
our kitchen. This generally means, I want a drink right now. Sandy has a
watering thing for the dogs that is stainless steel. It is a two both
frame. Anyhow, I was headed that way anyhow, so I let Jack into the kitchen
and waited around for him to get a sip of water. He did nothing but walk
around. I finally went over and checked the water bowls to see if they were
empty. One was, almost, and the other was about a third full. I figured,
as finicky, as Jack is, he probably wanted fresh cool water. We don't have
much of that lately with it being over 90 when it is still midnight and that
is mighty unusual for Denver. So, being the dog lover that I am, I fill up
the bowls for him. He stands around with his teeth in his mouth acting
like, Hey, what's the big deal. I don't need water. Then it dawned on me.
He had heard Gretchen come in and since he likes Gretchen, she was his
original owner until she no longer wanted to take care of him, he wanted to
see her. I tried getting him to come back out of the kitchen passed the
baby gate but he would have none of it. He knew Gretchen was some place.
So I went back into the house, main part of the house, for something. I
can't remember what I was doing. So, a couple of minutes later, you see, I
decide to go back out to my computer because Sandy needed me to look up an
email address. As I passed through the kitchen, I opened a half door which
has three steppes leading down toward the basement. If you turn right and
step down one step, you are in my office. If you turn left, you go down a
flight of stairs to the basement. The dog watering bowls are back in a
corner but it is sort of a close fit passing by these bowls sometimes and
through to this door for my office. somehow, and I'll never know how, my
foot caught this holder which holds two dog watering bowls, and before I
knew it, I was going over the first step, dragging the water bowls and
spilling them all over my feet, floors, and steps. It is, I guess, a
miracle I did not fall down the steps. So maybe the angel was really there
after all. I love being blind.

Phil.
