As I have received many replies, I have decided to take Tri-Boron for 6
months and then see how my 6 month bone scan shows. I am leery of Fosomax due
to the fact of teeth/mouth/jaw wise.
I have extensive dental work done in my mouth. so.............. I will
know in 6 months if Tri-Boron works.
My health insurance carrier arbitrarily changed my osteoporosis drug from
Actonel to Fosomax. (because they make the drug). I talked to my
rheumatologist
about it and he told me they had to give me a choice. But the most
important thing he told me was that Fosomax can cause osteonecrosis of the
jaw and
this medical condition can't be reversed. That said, I called Medco and
asked
them to change my prescription back to Actonel.
-------
I have it too, so a year ago I got on Bio-identical hormones, estrogen and
progesterone, and a product call Pro Bono (to help build bones). I just had
another bone scan and my spine increased 7%! Praise God!!
I do not want to take drugs if I don't have to. There are so many side
effects. So my doctor is letting me try this and I'll have another bone scan next
year.
