Folks:
Let's agree that Hamat will say anything we want to hear, especially
something this important. But what is wrong with uttering such optimism for
us coming together after the back and forth these past years to see a united
opposition come September to flush a government that has actually TAKEN US
FOR A RIDE?
Hamat Bah, atleast has the issues of the Gambia at heart. He took a time
off from what he was doing to meet Gambians abroad to discuss important
issues that pertains to the Gambia. He made a comment that I believe should
be welcoming to all of us if we are serious and not hypocritical about our
wishes to see a better Gambia. Wouldn't we think such a comment would be
encouraging and could speed up the process for the concerned parties to
reach out to each other? I would think so, but only if, like I said we are
serious about the whole thing.
Frankly, I get suspicious day by day about what is going on, on this list
It seems that we are more interested to see a wedge between the opposition.
I don't know how helpful it is for Halifa Sallah to come out and make
statements like these. Hamat's call for unity, you tell me what HALIFA IS
TRYING TO ACHIEVE HERE.
I have seen people praising THIS HALIFA SALLAH as the man of intelligence,
principles...you name it. IF this is what we can get from him, I SWEAR we
are in trouble. UNLESS HE CHANGES.
It is a proverb often quoted in Mandinka which can be read as, "The
troubles, the torments, the tragedy of a burning house shall not spare even
a bug" We are all Gambians, and we need to act as Gambians. Now is no time
for this crap that we seem to rejoice over. We need to encourage our
leadership in our respective camps to show us the zeal that they are coming
together and yes to come together. Hamat Bah has done, is doing his part to
see a Gambia without a president yaya come september. What are you and your
hero, our learned scholar doing?
Lamin.
