Hi Sandy, 
Nine days could include a shift to ketosis, but the diet wasn't low-carb. It
was high fat. So there were carbs to spark insulin production and produce
glycerol so fats would be stored as triglycerides. No wonder these rats were
fat, lazy and dumb. 

I can't imagine a diet better suited to causing these problems.
