Some large percentage (25%?) of all people of European descent (and
maybe others, but less data) have much more sensitive tastebuds (or
more of them) than the rest of us. They are known as "supertasters"
and they experience all the taste sensations several times as strongly,
but usually that becomes especially obvious with bitter tastes, as
most supertasters dislike things that others find mildly bitter,
such as a broccoli or certain leafy greens, unsweetened coffee or
chocolate, etc.
Your husband, Adrienne, is clearly a supertaster. Direct him to
