Ah yes,,,,,, My first rig was a t43ggv which I modified putting a ac
supply speaker volume squelch appropriate power switch and a really
fancy piolet light. I would lug this out of my closet to the living
room and put a quarter wave on a 90 degree so239 and check into the
weekly net.

I also recall building a long john 15 element beam in the garage which
I put on a 15 foot tetherball pole in the yard turning it by hand as
needed.

ATV was an interest in those days so I would talk back to another ham 2
miles away and watch him on his atv. It was black and white as he did
not have a color camera at that time except the CBS standard which no
one else had receding equipment for.

Hey the delete key is the equivalent of the tuning knob isn't it?

As far as people leaving the list, if they don't like the present
topic,
introduce a new one!! Some day I'll write a book on running a list.
You
sure see some strange things. I better not get started down that
road.

MMy first 2 meter rig, not counting my old 6 volt motorola m41v, was a

reginc y hr 212. Those were the days.
