Carol,
Glad to put a smile on your face. Sometimes I can tend to get a bit
serious but even in times of seriousness or being on the outs with my wife
over something, making a joke or light of something right out of the blue
or even if you don't feel it is appropriate at the time can prove to be a
great way to break the coldness or seriousness. The below scriptures I
really love...
Prov 15:13
13 A joyful heart makes a cheerful face,
But when the heart is sad, the spirit is broken
Prov 17:22-23
22 A joyful heart is good medicine,
But a broken spirit dries up the bones.
Next time you are in a mood or just not on top of your game in life or
perhaps someone else is having a rough go of it that day, do something
funny or zany and see what happens. You could reach over and twist
someone's nose and make a horn sound and smile, do the old trick by
pointing to their shirt/chest and say what's that, and when they look down
you flick their nose haha, sometimes if my wife and I are having a bit of
a disagreement? I'll wait for time to pass without us talking and if she's
in the kitchen let's say? I'll walk in from the other room like I'm on a
mission to do something else, reach over and give her the dip of a
lifetime and a peck ta boot hahaha. That will usually get her smiling and
hearts changed. I haven't a clue why I went into all that, but I did
hahaha. That in itself isn't joy, but it leads to a merry heart and
changes the mindset and also the mood of the heart.
