NRP'S SANNA MANNEH (TIX) DEFECTS TO THE APRC, AS HE CALLS ON GAMBIANS TO RALLY BEHIND JAMMEH!!!!!
Veteran Gambian journalist Sanna Manneh, who happens to be a political activist and also senior official of the opposition NRP, Friday defected to the Ruling APRC amidst a major shake up in the opposition. Sanna Manneh, wildly known as “Tix” Manneh, was spotted at the State House, where he pledged his full support for President Jammeh and his government, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal.
Mr. Manneh who was sued by former Vice President Saikou Sabally, following corruption allegations against Sabally published by his defunct Touch Newspaper some years ago said “any patriotic and genuine Gambian, who yearns for unity, development and peace for this country should rally behind the President to accomplish his aims for The Gambia.”
Tix went as far as calling President Jammeh as a kind hearted person. “He loves every Gambian.” said Mr.Manneh, who said he was determined to team up with Jammeh’s government to steer the affairs of the state. Tix Manneh promised the President that he will do his best to attract supporters from other parties for his ruling party.
In response a delighted Jammeh, said he welcomed Mr.Manneh and others to the APRC. In what was described as a surprising statement Jammeh publicly acknowledged that there were differences in the APRC just like in the case of the opposition. He says the nation’s interest supersedes such differences and urged Gambians to come together to develop the country.
“This country belongs to all of us. Even in the APRC there are differences but what is important is we should all have common gold to develop the country.”Jammeh said Friday.
