Charlie; I'm 64 yrs. old and was diagnosed 13 years agof after going from
172 lbs to 128 lbs in one month. Three years ago this December 6 I
went in for a radical prostate surgery due to cancer of the prostate
and at the pre physical a goiter was found after a cat scan! Since
then I have had it checked annually and one dr. now wants to pursue
this further to see what the cause could be. I'm not sure I want to
know the cause of go through a batch of tests as every six months I've
been having bone scans and cat scans done to be sure the former cancer
has not spread. So far so good on that acore. Also following the
prostate surgery I had blood clots passing through the heart so another
surgery to place an umbrella like apperatus in the veins to block the
blood clots and 10 days in intensive care; so I'm very leary of any
more messing arround with my old body! Hope this gives you insight but
I'm still not sure the sprue brought on the goiter. I'm the 5th of six
siblings and to date we are unable to factually find that any other
members prior or currently have or had sprue. I do have an older
sister for years fighting a lot of mental problems (skits o) and her
oldest son has rheumatoric arthriditis (spelling!).

Hope this helps. Bob Meehan Omaha NE
