You can use goldwave to do what you want to do.

First, (quite obviously), open the goldwave program. Press F11, then control 
tab twice to the "volume" pane of the multi-level dialogue box. Tab four 
times; you will undoubtedly hear something like "...what you hear", folloed 
by a percentage, then the word unchecked. Tab once to check this item, then 
tab to okay.

Of course, you have to be in the goldwave window to manipulate the goldwave 
controls. I've never actually used goldwave to record an internet stream, 
but were I to do so, I'd access the streaming source before the time the 
desired content was streaming, then fire up goldwave and start the recording 
with the "what you hear" menu item checked. You can always lop off undesired 
content with the trim feature, as you know.
