I received some responses to my post about biodegradable shipping peanuts. A
couple of you asked why I was eating them, or if I was rubbing them on my
body. Of course not!!! Those responses seemed a little weird/rude to me. I
know I'm not the only one who gets nasty responses on this listserv. It's a
shame. I know some people who are afraid to post because of this.
Anyway...
Some of you said they did not contain gluten because they were cornstarch
based. The web site of the company where I planned on buying my peanuts
(VeriPak) stated that they were in fact made from "potato and/or wheat
starch". That's why I was concerned. I'm sure some or most are made from
corn, but obviously they all are not.
I'm also concerned because I ship gluten free food products as a part of my
business, and I also have 2 small celiac children (ages 4 and 1) that could
ingest them by mistake, or not know to wash their hands. My one-year-old
especially. He is into everything these days.
Thanks to those of you that tried to help me. I appreciate it.
Chris
