April and Carol,

Hmmm. I wonder about a treatment of Botox in each cheek, on the face that
is, to pull a permanent smile serving as a continuous solution to the
"down in the dumps". haha. Who came up with the name "botox" anyway, it
sounds a little too close to a part of the human anatomy which the average
folk would not find need to use such treatments. Hmmm, pinching a pencil
creating a smile would seem to work, that was a good idea they had. Well.
Since Phil has his back exercise, perhaps we ought not leave him working
out alone. Phil? You keep doing those back exercises and we'll all work on
our smiles. "Hey everyone! Look at Phil do those exercises! Doesn't that
make you smile? Oops, ummm well, sorry Phil. Anyway yawl let's get into
our exercise positions OK? I'll begin the workout music... click. There we
go now everyone stand up. Come on come on get up now. Stand up stand up,
that's right. Now. Hands on hips. Feet shoulder length apart, toes pointed
forward. Take a big breath in, exhale slowly. One more time now. That's it
that's it. Now. Ready? On your mark, get set. Smile, 2, 3, and smile 2, 3.
That's it get those cheeks tensed up and release, tense and release, come
on now big cheesy smile. OK now hold the smile, come on hold it hold it,
hold it and one more count hold it. And release. Breathe in, and breathe
out. Now. Again big smile 2. 3. and smile 2. and 3. See? isn't this fun?
Now we'll work out half the face at a time ready left side only! Go. Smile
2. 3. And smile 2, 3. Don't let the right side tense up and form a smile
now, think grimace on that side, now. Hold it. And release, breathe in,
breathe out. And now the right side. Up goes the lips, there we go, and
down, and up, and down, and up and hold it. Hold it. And release, and
breath, exhale slowly. Now alternating lip curls ready? Up with the left,
down with the right, now down with the left. And up with the right, Repeat
that one more time that's it. Left, and right, and left, and right, left,
right, left, right, left right left right left right. And now? Rest. Whew!
what a work out. Phil you're not suppose to be over there talking with
Chester. haha.

One of my counselors taught me an exercise of holding something with the
thickness of a pen between my lips for two to three minutes every so often
during the day if I were having trouble with depression. He said studies
show that smiling releases enzymes in to the body that relieve depression.
Interesting, because I tried it and it works. Just hold the pen or
something between your lips without biting on it. It forces your lips in
to a smile and works the facial muscles that allow the enzymes to come
out.

Honest! It's true!
