I have always read that maltodextrin is gluten free. However, today I was munching on some Terra brand chips and noticed that the ingredients include "maltodextrin (from wheat)." (Fortunately, I am not one of the celiacs in the family.) Does anyone know what this is about? Should I avoid maltodextrin in any food b/c it could be from wheat? I know I've given my child and husband (both celiacs) maltodextrin-containing foods in the past and I don't think they've reacted. I didn't even know maltodextrin COULD come from wheat. Any advice/help is appreciated!
