I responded to Tinkara hours many hours ago but the mail does not seem to have come thru:
Tunkara,
I for one, am worried by the thinking that anybody who stands up to fight for their rights is doing so because of ambitions they habour for eventually gaining political office.
I have never read anywhere Joe's statement of aspirations for political office; some do what they do out of dignity, the feeling of self-worth and hatred for injustice and lies. You have seen those who have confessed their aspiration for political office but somehow decided instead to imply the contrary.
I am sure if Joe haboured any aspirations for political office, his stance on issues would have been very different from what anybody, despite what they may claim here, know the reality to be.
If by any chance however, Joe should end up in office, I'd prefer him any day over what obtains today as he is an honest, dedicated person who matches his words with deeds. Not only has he put his money where his mouth is, he has been relentlessly calling on others to do so. Never have I known him to have told a lie either!
Regards,
Kabir.

You are absolutely right, and I think they should be ashamed of themselves. But the big question is, what the future holds for the Gambia if these folks, charaterise above, succeed in becoming part of an administration that replaces Jammeh? It is scary.

Tunkareh, as to a future role in a NADD government please do not loose sleep
on that as far as I am concerned. Believe it or not, but there are those of
us out here that have no interest in being part of a NADD government. Our
interest is purely a need for Democracy and rule of law in The Gambia. One
thing that is good about time, it validates truth or dishonesty, so just be
patient. Good luck with your goal to run things in the Gambia.
