Julie,

Yep we had cockateels , funny little birds they are. Fun to have around
and let them crawl around on you hehehehehe. Smart little things too.

Darb,

Yes, I wish dogs could live longer too.

Speaking of birds, Tracey and I got two cockateels. THey will live 25 to
30 years, if all goes well. We wanted to have pets in the house, though
I still miss the Lear.

We were forced to give up a dog, our house pet, my buddy because the pup
was a Border Collie, and are well known for their Houdini tricks of
breaking free. We chased her too many times around the city, once a she
stood in the middle of an intersection in the headlights of cars. I'll
never forget watching her drive off in the back seat of the car of the
folks that took her, yet I know she was going to be much happier and safer
on the farm she was headed for. Why can't pups live as long as those pet
birds do. That would be much easier on us pet owners.

Kathy,

THanks. I like what you said about wishing I could be a dog and
explain.
I
tried to talk with Lear about going to a nice place with kids and another
doggie to play with, but who knows how much he understood? He was happy
enough to be going out when he left, but he didn't yet realize that I
wasn't
going with him.

Yes, I'm the practical type, but it's still hard missing the Lear dog.
