According to this site:-

There was a change in SSI rules in 2004:-
"SSI no longer limits value of household goods and personal effects."
In fact this page:-
<http://www.socialsecurity.gov/ssi/spotlights/spot-resources.htm>
Confirms that "household goods and personal effects" do NOT count towards your
$2000 resource limit.
I would be pretty sure a TV counts as "household goods" so I think you are
fine. Kickback that "Lazee-Boy", fire up the plasma, and neck a couple of
