What clear channel and the others are doing is taking advantage of the
condition the market is in because of consolidation.  I think probably
deregulation is more responsible for the state of radio today than anything
else;  CC and the others are merely doing what for-proffit companies do.
I'm not saying that this totally exonerates them but i don't see them as a
cause of the problem so much as one of the consequences of it.

As someone who works for clear channel, let me say on their behalf that,
although it took them a while to catch on, they've been pretty accomodating
in terms of access technology for me.  They've spent thousands to make the
automation system we use at our four stations usable with Jaws.  I'll leave
it at that since I don't really want to delve more deeply into a subject
that, while it may be interesting, isn't really ham radio related.  Lou
