Is this radio an hf rig, or is it a VHF and/or UHF rig
I've only briefly heard of the 847. Not really up on Yaesu products, as I'm
partial to Kenwood over here

Hi Richard,
Having just purchased a used 847, I managed to obtain a voice chip from a
dealer here in the UK after a little searching. I was fortunate as it was
the last remaining unit in stock. So it might be worth phoning around your
local dealers if you've not already done so. I think the model is the
F-VS1A.
Btw, I wonder does anyone have the user manual for the ft-847 in text or
ms-word format? Would appreciate a copy.
Cheers,
Tim, GI4OPH.
