Howard,
Two things:

First download his waves.zip file.  You can then go into the options of the 
Field Day program and configure it for speech.  There are three radio 
buttons: no speech, callsign only, or all fields.  I find callsign is enough 
because you know the order of the other fields for entering the number and 
section designator.  It is quite useable.

If you make a mistake, you need to use the mouse and left-click on the entry 
you need to edit.  But, other than that, it is quite transparent and very 
accessible.
