Yes that's  true, it does have a wide matching range and I am happy with it.
One thing threw me when I got it almost 2 years ago:  My old MFJ tuner had
single turn caps.  The caps on the Palstar need 6 turns on the knob to  do a
single 360 degree rotation of the cap.    Half the knobs would be half the
work, but as you said,  you do get a wider range.
