I've never seen a setting like that. Mine all work great out of the
box though my uniden on my private line here is well down on range
from the panasonics my mother has. Mine will make it to the mailbox
about 100 feet away, with walls in between where as the panasonic
base is farther away from the street and I can get 1/4 of a mile away
and it sounds just as good as close up. I haven't tried any farther.
IN this neighborhood I'd get lost going that far.
