Dear Tom:
I believe that an eighty meter G5RV uses about thirty one feet of twin
lead and for the antenna to work properly you need to get as much of this as
possible in a strait vertical position. Now running it as a flat top will
give you the highest gain from what I have read but raising the center would
lower the SWR at least.
I don't have a clue on how the R7 works, so I'll leave that to someone
more knowledgeable in that area.
