true, the TM-V7a has been discontinued. the TM-V708A is an alright radio, 
not PC programmable and I believe the face plate can't be mounted to the 
radio though  which is a major turn off for me where I use radios like that 
in the house though for mobile that's a nice feature but I run the TM271A 
mobile and radios like that since I'm not mobile much.
