At the time the BNS was developed, there were no rechargeable AA batteries
that had any kind of life at all. FS is far from the only manufacturer of
electronic gear that doesn't choose to use user-replaceable or rechargeable
batteries, so let's not turn this into yet another FS bash, which virtually
any discussion of FS products becomes within a few messages following the
original one. If you don't like FS, there's a simple solution to your
problem--don't buy their products. However, for those who do like them and
buy them, keep your opinions off these lists.

Did you ever ask yourself, "why didn't freedom Scientific use rechargeable
AA batteries that we all could replace ourselves"? Just another way to keep
us under their thumb
