if you use jaws there is a script right in jaws for that, you just have to assign the key for it but if you go to the keyboard manager I think, it's there, with newer versions anyway. I just can't stand that it can't make up it's mind if the replies go to the sender or the list so you have to check all the time, no other list is like that. They're either 1 way or the other.

  Well, it would be nice that if you see a post on a list that you would reply to private to be able to do so without all that cutting and pasting.  I was told there was a utility that allowed one to reply to the poster rather than the list, but I never heard anything about it.
