I find this to be true, even with the HEil microphone on my
Icom 740 which I"m using until my old Kenwood ts-440s comes
back first of the week. sTations who know audio and whose
ears I trust tell me the KEnwood has much more full range
audio.
IF you go Icom however I really would recommend you get the
Heil mic, either the headset or the mic you mount on a
regular stand. I use the latter type with my Icom with a
foot switch. I was too abusive to headsets so we went with
a regular microphone. Being a musician and studio guy I
have plenty of microphone stands <g>.
HOpe that helps.
