Brother Abdu,
There are so many dangerous additives to food these days that one has to
choose what you eat very carefully. From genetically engineered grains being
added to food without the knowledge of the consumer to harmful chemical
additives intended to extend the shelf life of foods all to the detriment of those
who consume them while lining the pockets of the food industry. They also have
an unbelievable lobby at the FDA.
Choosing organic foods and vegetables whenever possible and reading labels
when one shops is very important. These chemicals food additives and the fact
that the bulk of the food we consume nowadays is processed foods are the
reason for the prevalence of the numerous health problems including cancers. One
should also avoid drinking tap water, especially in the United States. At
least get a water filter.
A very important topic to be concerned about.

Thanks for the forward. The present of dangerous substance in the food chain
and the environment is the issue I have raise with my local Member of
European Parliament for the NorthWest below is his response and hope you will find
it interesting. We should act now the corporate take over is destroying our
health and environment.
Ref: shk/31/06
Thank you for your enquiry regarding the proposed Registration, Evaluation
and Authorisation of Chemicals (REACH) package. This is an issue which Sajjad
Karim MEP takes extremely seriously and over which he understands your deep
concern.
The proposed requirements are intended to ensure that the 30,000 chemicals
in daily use pose no long-term threats to health or the environment, while not
imposing excessive burdens on the chemicals industry. It takes the place of
about 40 different European laws on chemicals as well as scores of national
regulations and is in itself the biggest ever piece of EU legislation.
Amendments tabled by Liberal Democrats in the parliament ensure that the
testing requirements have been relaxed to reduce industry costs while still
being able to identify 99% of chemicals of concern. We also received support for
a series of amendments aimed at reducing animal testing requirements: it
being our view that animal testing be banned in the scheme, with the exceptions
being for cases where it was absolutely necessary – for example in relation
to key cancer drugs.
These proposed amendments have now been discussed by the environment and
public health committee in October. We have liaised closely with animal welfare
groups regarding the amendments to REACH which have been based on both
promoting non-animal testing as part of the testing regime, but also ensuring that
tests that have to be made on animals are not duplicated elsewhere. All our
key amendments relating to animal welfare have been re-tabled on this
occasion and have been supported in committee.
The parliament will now negotiate REACH with the Council of Ministers and
the Finnish Presidency before the end of the year. The major point of
difference between their position and our view thus far is that the parliament has
called for chemicals of very high concern to be taken off the market if safer
substitutes exist.
Warm regards
Harry Houghton

Have a look at the wrapper on a Coca-Cola 1.5 liter bottle and in the
ingredients label you will find phosphoric acid in it. Minute quantities of
ethylene glycol are also used (which is acknowledged in the soft drink world for
making it really chill). This is popularly known as anti-freeze which prevents
water from freezing at 0 deg C and instead drops it by 4-5 degrees with
minute! quantities. This chemical is a known slow poison in the caliber of arsenic.
So, if you manage to drink about 4 liters of Coke within an hour or so, you
can die.Read along and give up these dangerous things. Be natural; have
flavored milks, tender coconuts, buttermilk, lassi and plain water instead of these
"soft" drinks. Guess what's the pH for soft drinks, e.g. Coke?PH 3.4! This
acidity is strong enough to dissolve teeth and bones! Our human body stops
building bones at the age of about 30. Soft drinks do not have any utrition
value (in terms of vitamins & minerals). It is high in sugar
content, carbonic acid, chemicals i.e. colorings etc. Some like to take cold
soft drinks after each meal. Guess what's the impact? Our body needs an
optimum temperature of 37 degrees Celsius for d! igestive enzyme functioning. The
temperature of cold soft drinks is very much below 37 degrees or even close
to 0 degrees Celsius. This will dilute the enzymes & stress the digestive
system. The food taken will not be digested. In fact it will be fermented! The
fermented food produces gases, decays and becomes toxin, gets absorbed by the
intestine, circulates in the blood stream and is carried to the whole body.
Hence toxin is cumulated in other parts of the body, developing into various
diseases. Think before you drink coke/Pepsi (or any soft drink) again. Have you
ever thought what you drink when you drink an aerated drink? You gulp down
carbon dioxide, when nobody in the world would advise you to drink CO2. Two
months back, there was a competition at Delhi University "Who could
drin! k the most Coke?"The winner drank 8 bottles and fainted on the
spot-too much CO2 in the blood. Thereafter, the principal banned all soft drinks
from the college canteen! While this might have been an extreme measure, the
results do provide some food for thought. Did you know that soft drinks use
chemicals in them that cause immense harm to you. Someone put a broken tooth in a
bottle of Pepsi and in 10 days it DISSOLVED! Can you believe it?Teeth and
bones are the only human parts that stay intact for years after death. Imagine
what the drink must be doing to your soft intestines and stomach lining
