Hi ALL,
Given the current state of national distress in Gambia following the
arrests of NADD leaders Hamat Bah, Omar A Jallow, and Halifa Sallah, all
Gambians and freinds of the Gambia are invited to deliberate on what we
in the diaspora can do to support the movement towards a peaceful defeat
of the APRC dictatorship.
We think it imperative to recognise that the current crackdown on the
opposition is a chilling prelude to an inevitable descent into anarchy.
Other reckless crackdowns are likely to follow, and those on the
frontline, journalists for example, may become victims.
The struggle to free incacerated leaders, progressives, and activists is
definitely going to be a protracted one. Thus the need to draw up plans
for both short-term and strategic courses of action.
This is the broad outline of what we want to discuss.
*Friday, November 25, 17.30 Hrs at Tunbergskolan, H輍gviksv輍en 2. It is
