I forget how it works but if you want ice cubes faster you fill the tray
with hot water.
Urea wld certainly work but I wld worry about impurities staining the
stone... and if over-used or the DYI variety the potential scent in summer.
Wild cats overwintering in our garage are certainly doing their part to
keep the ice accumulation to a minimum.
